Summary: The Network Architect role involves leading the design and delivery of strategic network solutions for a confidential government client, focusing on national security priorities. This position requires extensive experience in secure network architecture within a complex environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders and drive end-to-end system thinking. DV clearance is mandatory for this high-impact role based in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-level and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD) in line with project milestones
- Produce comprehensive artefacts including site-specific network architectures, passive infrastructure layouts, active equipment installation designs, and rack diagrams
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including local IT teams, other Government Departments, and system owners
- Drive end-to-end system thinking including LAN/WAN design and implementation, WAN provisioning, and network security technologies
- Work across the full system delivery lifecycle including service design and transition
- Analyse technical requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions
- Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations of architectural decisions
- Lead on technical governance, guidance, and assurance activities
- Act as the primary technical PoC for networking and associated infrastructure
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
Key Skills:
- Extensive background in secure Network Architecture and Design
- Strong knowledge of government or military-grade secure environments
- Experience with passive and active infrastructure planning, WAN/LAN technologies, and encrypted communication solutions
- Familiarity with government service delivery lifecycle and assurance processes

About the Role
Our confidential government client requires an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and delivery of strategic network solutions. This is a high-impact role within a complex, secure environment, where your architectural expertise will support national security priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-level and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD) in line with project milestones
Produce comprehensive artefacts including:
Site-specific network architectures
Passive infrastructure layouts (fibre, copper - vertical & horizontal)
Active equipment installation designs
Rack diagrams, patching schedules, and cabling plans
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including:
Local IT teams
Other Government Departments (OGDs)
System owners and integrators
Drive end-to-end system thinking including:
LAN/WAN design and implementation
WAN provisioning and circuit dependencies
Network security and encryption technologies (e.g., cryptos)
Dependencies on EUDs, storage, and power systems (UPS)
Work across the full system delivery lifecycle:
Service Design, Transition, Acceptance, and into Live
Collaborate with Service Architects on Assurance and Gate Reviews
Analyse technical requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions
Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations of architectural decisions
Lead on technical governance, guidance, and assurance activities
Act as the primary technical PoC for networking and associated infrastructure
Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
