Summary: The Network DNS Architect role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale DNS infrastructure in secure and complex environments. The position emphasizes resilient architecture, DNS security, and cloud integration within large-scale networks. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect scalable DNS solutions across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments
  • Develop DNS strategies covering high availability, resilience and disaster recovery
  • Manage and optimise platforms including Infoblox, BIND, BlueCat and Microsoft DNS
  • Implement DNS security controls including DNSSEC, DDoS protection and threat mitigation
  • Troubleshoot complex DNS, network and connectivity issues
  • Collaborate with network, security and cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Create technical standards, documentation and operational procedures
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring across engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance and regulatory requirement

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in DNS architecture, administration and enterprise networking
  • Deep understanding of DNS protocols, recursive and authoritative DNS services
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching technologies
  • Experience with cloud DNS services including AWS Route 53, Azure DNS and Google Cloud DNS
  • Expertise in load balancing, traffic management and DNS-based routing
  • Proven experience designing highly available and resilient infrastructures
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills
  • Active SC Clearance preferred, SC Eligible candidates considered
  • CCNP, CCIE, Infoblox, Microsoft or Azure certifications
  • Experience within government, utilities, defence or other regulated sectors
