Summary: The NBS Technician role involves providing technical support and services for a multibillion-dollar company specializing in managed services and technology. This position is a 2-month contract based in Hillsboro, Oregon, focusing on client laptop and desktop configurations, troubleshooting, and customer service. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, interacting with clients and managing support tickets. Candidates must have relevant technical experience and be authorized to work in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Putting OS on client laptops/desktops/tablets, configuration of laptops/desktops/tablets and client data migration.
- Advanced break/fix support of software/hardware issues for clients.
- Managing and updating tickets via the client's ticketing database.
- Flexibility changing directions within an hour, sometimes less.
- Travelling between buildings using a personal vehicle/via foot.
- Frequent interaction with clients in person and via phone, email, and IM.
- Work in a dynamic team and cross-train to backfill for peer team members.
- Train and backfill for our partner IT groups, including Data Center Housing, IT Service Centers, and Audio-Visual departments.
- Additional responsibilities, assigned periodically, aimed at helping meet our clients' needs and provide you with continuous hands-on training and experience.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years technical experience.
- A+ certification is required within 90 days of start date.
- Windows/Linux imaging.
- Advanced Windows OS troubleshooting.
- Basic server imaging with limited troubleshooting.
- Basic Linux OS troubleshooting.
- Basic printer support and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. solo.
- May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel and Word primarily) and Windows 7, 8 and 10.
