Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the successful delivery of the Lead Authority National Resilience Functional Plan and the HVP Capability Business Plan.
  • Supporting the National Resilience (NR) response to operational incidents as required in accordance with the NCAF.
  • Co-ordination and delivery of the National Resilience HVP Capability assurance process.
  • Delivery of the HVP capability specific advice to a range of stakeholders to maximise the benefits of the HVP capability.
  • Supporting and/or evaluate any exercises that utilise National Resilience capabilities as directed.
  • Supporting the governance of the HVP Capability by attending capability or other meetings as directed.

Key Skills:

  • Successfully completed a recognised Incident Command Course.
  • Possess a recognised Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience of working in Fire and Rescue Service environment to resolve operational incidents.
  • Experience and knowledge of the HVP Capability.
  • Experience of managing own workload and working to deadlines.
  • Evidence of supporting quality assurance.

About The Role

Salary: Station Manager B, plus flexible duty allowance

Contract: Fixed term contract / secondment up to 31st March 2028

Hours: Full time, 42 hours per week

Location: An agreed base of work. Requirement for national travel

As the Lead Authority for National Resilience, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are seeking applications from existing FRS specialists who wish to undertake a fixed term contact / secondment to the National Resilience High Volume Pump (HVP) capability team as a HVP Capability Officer. To support delivery of the agreement between the National Resilience Lead Authority and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. To operate in support of the National Co-ordination Advisory Framework (NCAF).
