About Giant Group
Established in 1992, Giant Group is a workforce management platform and solutions provider.
We support businesses with compliant and efficient solutions spanning applicant tracking, supply chain management, screening, time management, billing, payroll and a range of employment options globally.
The Role
Giant Group is developing n8n as a strategic automation and integration platform across the business.
We're looking for an experienced n8n Engineer to accelerate delivery of production automation, system integrations and AI-augmented workflows across operational and development functions.
This is a hands-on engineering role.
You'll work directly with the UK-based CTO and teams across Giant Group to design, build, test, deploy and support reliable n8n workflows that reduce manual effort, connect key platforms and introduce AI-assisted processing where it creates measurable value.
We're looking for a delivery-focused engineer who can work independently, communicate clearly across locations and time zones, and produce secure, maintainable working solutions rather than specifications alone.
Key Delivery Areas
- Workflow Engineering
- AI-Augmented Process Automation
- Integration Architecture
- Worker & Contractor Communications
- Development & Operations Automation
- Handover & Knowledge Transfer
Technical Environment
- n8n (self-hosted)
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Azure DevOps
- Microsoft .NET/C# services
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
- Zendesk
- Smartsheet
- SendGrid
- Anthropic Claude API and other approved AI services
- Respond.io/WhatsApp Business API
- Microsoft Azure infrastructure
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable hands-on experience building and operating production n8n workflows (essential)
- Strong REST API and webhook integration skills, including OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT and secure credential handling
- Strong JavaScript/Node.js capability for n8n expressions, Code nodes, data transformation and workflow logic
- Experience integrating SQL databases; Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred
- Practical experience designing resilient workflows with error handling, retries, logging, alerting and recovery paths
- Ability to diagnose integration failures using logs, API responses and execution data
- Ability to work independently, manage delivery against agreed priorities and communicate blockers early
- Professional written and spoken English sufficient for technical collaboration with UK-based stakeholders
Highly Desirable Experience
- Building LLM-augmented n8n workflows using Anthropic, OpenAI or comparable APIs
- Experience with self-hosted n8n, including credentials, environments, deployment, upgrades and operational monitoring
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 integrations and Azure DevOps APIs
- Experience with WhatsApp Business API or comparable messaging integrations
- Experience with Zendesk and/or Smartsheet APIs
- Background in payroll, HR technology, screening, financial services or another regulated/data-sensitive environment
- Understanding of secure software delivery, source control, testing and change management
How We Work
- Delivery first: working, tested automation is the primary output
- Pragmatic engineering: choose the simplest reliable solution that meets the requirement
- Security by design: treat personal, payroll and screening data appropriately throughout the workflow lifecycle
- Observable automation: production workflows must be supportable, diagnosable and recoverable
- Documentation as part of delivery, not a post-project activity
- Clear communication across distributed teams and UK working hours
What Success Looks Like
- Production n8n workflows operating reliably across priority business processes
- Integrations implemented using reusable, maintainable patterns
- AI-augmented workflows deployed where they provide a clear operational benefit and appropriate controls are in place
- High-volume worker communication flows operating reliably where included in scope
- Monitoring, error handling and support procedures implemented for production workflows
- Clear documentation and runbooks completed
- Internal engineers able to maintain and extend delivered workflows
- A prioritised backlog of further automation opportunities for subsequent phases
