Summary: The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on advanced conveyor and crane systems within a highly automated facility in Skelmersdale. The position requires independent work during rotating shifts, with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on conveyor and crane systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical components including inverters, switches, relays, drives, sensors
- Work independently on shift, with technical support available from the wider team and online PLC/software experts
- Maintain mechanical systems such as shafts, pulleys, bearings, chains, belts, rollers, and sprockets
- Ensure safe operations at height and compliance with site safety protocols
Key Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous)
- Strong experience with automated systems, especially conveyors and cranes
- Comfortable working solo and confident in high-level, fast-paced environments
- Working at height qualifications are advantageous
