Summary: We are looking for a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work night shifts in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility on a 3-month contract. The role involves delivering maintenance support, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment and strong fault-finding skills. Immediate availability is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime.
- Support site engineering projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems across the production site.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with site health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers.
Key Skills:
- Time-served engineer with a recognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently on nights and manage priorities efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Available to start at short notice and commit to the full 3-month contract.
