Summary: The role of MS SQL DBA involves joining a large organization in the financial sector, focusing on the administration and management of SQL Server databases. The position requires full-time onsite work in London and is expected to last for an initial period of 3-6 months. The successful candidate will need to possess a deep understanding of SQL Server and advanced scripting skills. Immediate availability is preferred as the role is to start as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server 2012 to 2022
- Administering and managing the SQL Server Database estate.
- Capacity planning of the Physical and Virtual Database Server estate.
- Advanced Scripting skills in either: Python, PowerShell, T-SQL.
- Experience in setting up and administering AlwaysOn and Mirroring
- Experience of configuring and setting up clustering, Availability Groups and Database mirroring.
- Proven ability to automate builds and repetitive tasks
- Ensuring high availability of the infrastructure and minimising the duration and impact of any outages.
- Providing database support and advice to other Infrastructure teams as well as developers and end users.
- Maintain database security standards across the SQL Server database estate.
- Participate in an on-call support rota.

Bench IT require an experienced MS SQL DBA to join a large organisation starting ASAP within the financial sector. This will be working full time onsite in London.
The successful candidate should have the skills and experience included below:

- Administering and managing the SQL Server Database estate.
- Capacity planning of the Physical and Virtual Database Server estate.
- Advanced Scripting skills in either: Python, PowerShell, T-SQL.
