Summary: The MS Dynamics NAV Developer is responsible for developing and delivering solutions on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system using C/AL, adhering to SOX-controlled standards. This role involves participation in the entire software development lifecycle, including design validation, documentation, testing, and delivery. The position requires a strong understanding of NAV2009 and integration experience with high-volume transactional systems. The developer will work closely with a team to meet tight deadlines and support business requirements effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver MS Dynamics NAV software and components in all functional areas
  • Develop and deliver Microsoft Dynamics Business Central component and functionality
  • Create new and modify existing customisations
  • Work closely with a team of developers and consultants
  • Work to tight delivery deadlines
  • Comply with and support development standards
  • Test functionality developed by the development team against business requirements
  • Assist with functional specifications of customisations
  • Provide pre-go-live, post-go-live and continuous end user support
  • Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Consultants to understand and refine business and technical requirements
  • Deliver development tasks within agreed budgets and timelines

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of ERP programming experience and hands-on work with full life cycle implementations
  • 5 or more years’ full-time development experience specifically working with the NAV C/SIDE C/AL development language
  • 3 or more years’ full-time development experience specifically working with the BC and AL development language
  • Experience of high-volume transactional systems demanding efficient code
  • Experience of systems integrations
  • Ability to document code in compliance with company standards and practices
  • Ability to debug errors efficiently and effectively
  • Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm for testing their own code before delivering it
  • Enjoy working as part of a close multi-skilled team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
