MS Defender Engineer

Summary: The MS Defender Engineer role involves providing subject matter expertise in information security for ongoing IT and business projects, ensuring that security requirements are integrated from the outset. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to manage risks and validate security controls throughout the project lifecycle. The role is based in Reading and includes a hybrid working arrangement with one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with project stakeholders as an Information Security SME throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform security risk assessments against projects to determine control requirements.
• Track and report on security requirements levied on projects/initiatives through to successful implementation.
• Develop security-related project artefacts/patterns to support consistent security input to projects.
• Perform controls validation to ensure that any initial requirements were implemented as expected.
• Identify and document any residual risks and engage with the Information Security Risk team.
• Work collaboratively with the wider Information Security function, Enterprise Architecture & Service Transition team.
