Summary: The Model Maker role involves supporting a high-performance wind tunnel testing operation by building and delivering mechanical assemblies and components. The position requires collaboration with design engineers and proactive problem-solving to ensure quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical build experience and be comfortable working on-site full time. This is a 12-month contract with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build large mechanical assemblies for wind tunnel testing
  • Manufacture and deliver high-spec parts to tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to enhance model change efficiency
  • Support lead techs in workload management and delivery
  • Identify and solve technical issues proactively
  • Contribute to Health & Safety compliance

Model Maker

Location: On-site (5 days/week)

Hours: 8:30–17:30

Rate: £35 p/h (Umbrella)

Overview: We’re seeking an experienced Model Technician to support a high-performance wind tunnel testing operation. You’ll work within a skilled team to build, test, and deliver top-quality test components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build large mechanical assemblies for wind tunnel testing
  • Manufacture and deliver high-spec parts to tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to enhance model change efficiency
  • Support lead techs in workload management and delivery
  • Identify and solve technical issues proactively
