Summary: The Model Maker role involves supporting a high-performance wind tunnel testing operation by building and delivering mechanical assemblies and components. The position requires collaboration with design engineers and proactive problem-solving to ensure quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical build experience and be comfortable working on-site full time. This is a 12-month contract with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build large mechanical assemblies for wind tunnel testing
- Manufacture and deliver high-spec parts to tight deadlines
- Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to enhance model change efficiency
- Support lead techs in workload management and delivery
- Identify and solve technical issues proactively
- Contribute to Health & Safety compliance
Key Skills:
- Strong mechanical build experience
- Background in model shop or wind tunnel testing environments
- Good problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Comfortable working on-site full time
