Summary: The Microsoft Purview Data Governance Analyst is responsible for managing enterprise data cataloging in Microsoft Purview for Azure Fabric data assets. This role involves defining and maintaining metadata, ensuring data lineage, and enforcing data governance policies while collaborating with various teams. The position requires strong expertise in data governance and hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage enterprise data cataloging in Microsoft Purview for migrated Azure Fabric data assets.
- Define and maintain metadata, data classifications, sensitivity labels, and business glossary.
- Ensure end-to-end data lineage across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- Partner with data engineering, modelling, and business teams to align governance with analytics needs.
- Enforce data governance policies, standards, and controls.
- Support data quality, compliance, and audit requirements.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in data governance, metadata management, and cataloging.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview (catalog, lineage, classification, glossary).
- Experience supporting cloud data platforms, preferably Azure MS Fabric.
- Understanding of data warehousing, Medallion Architecture, and analytics ecosystems.
- Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills.
