Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data professional with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to design, build, and optimise modern data solutions that support Business Intelligence and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Fabric
  • Build and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows
  • Develop and maintain semantic models to support enterprise reporting and analytics
  • Create high-quality, user-focused Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Ensure data models are scalable, efficient, and aligned to business requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Provide training, mentoring, and best practice guidance to report developers and business users
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, and reporting issues
  • Support data governance, documentation, and data architecture standards
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams across the organisation

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Expertise in data engineering, data modelling, and semantic layer design
  • Advanced SQL development skills
  • Strong experience building and optimising ETL/data pipeline solutions
  • Extensive experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Experience delivering user training, coaching, and knowledge transfer sessions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within large-scale transformation or data modernisation programmes
  • Knowledge of Azure Data services and broader Microsoft data technologies
  • Experience implementing data governance and best practice frameworks
  • Understanding of performance optimisation techniques within reporting and analytics environments
