Summary: The Microsoft Cloud Specialist role at Portwest involves supporting and managing cloud technologies, particularly Azure and Microsoft 365, to enhance the company's digital transformation efforts. The position requires collaboration with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices. The successful candidate will engage in both business-as-usual support and project work, contributing to the overall IT and security strategy of the organization. This full-time, permanent position is based in Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire, UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on experience with Azure services, Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity department to align security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Configure, deploy, and manage devices using Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Manage provisioning and deprovisioning processes for employees and associated asset management.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Azure services including Virtual Machines (VMs), Networking, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and Security tools.
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Implement Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, and security best practices to protect identities and data.
- Monitor security logs and compliance reports using Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Security Centre.
- Plan and execute on-premises to cloud migrations.
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for cloud-based systems and resolve issues related to Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
- Utilize PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Microsoft Graph API to automate deployments and administrative tasks.
- Document policies, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Key Skills:
- University Degree and/or Microsoft certifications (MD100 – 101, MS100 -101, MS203, MS500, MS700, MS900).
- Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Azure Identity, Enterprise Applications, and Virtual Machines.
- Strong understanding of security principles, including data protection, threat management, and compliance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues efficiently.
- Strong security knowledge, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and organization skills.
