Summary: The Microsoft Business Central Consultant role at Whitehall Resources involves collaborating with project teams to translate business processes into system requirements for Business Central implementations. The consultant will provide quality assurance, user support, and knowledge transfer while identifying areas for system optimization. This position requires a strong understanding of Business Central functionalities and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The role is based in Edinburgh and requires three days of onsite work each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with project team members to understand business processes and translate them into system requirements.
- Mapping business requirements to Business Central functionalities and developing functional design documents.
- Providing quality assurance on the implementation of the Business Central solution.
- Supporting users with guidance and expertise in testing defect resolution.
- Providing knowledge transfer and capability building for local Digital & Technology Consultants.
- Identifying areas for improvement and system optimization.
- Implementing and supporting key areas of Business Central deployment, including procurement, finance, property rental, sales, and invoicing.
- Working with Business Central add-ons and integrations with 3rd party applications.
- Managing cutover, migration, platform administration, and security.
- Overseeing workflows, panels, tiles, and document management.
Key Skills:

Microsoft Business Central Consultant
Whitehall Resources currently require an experienced Microsoft Business Central Consultant.
*Please note this role falls INSIDE IR35 and will require 3 days onsite in Edinburgh weekly*
Key Responsibilities:
. Working closely with the project team members to understand their business processes, identifying needs, and translating them into system requirements that can support the deployment with our implementation partner
. Work with our implementation partner to map business requirements to the functionalities of Business Central, developing functional design documents where necessary, and proposing effective solutions direction. Provide robust challenge to ensure we adopt best practice where possible and 'keep things simple'.
. Providing a level of quality assurance on the implementation of the Business Central solution for their business needs
. Support users by providing guidance and expertise with the testing defect resolution
. Provide knowledge transfer and capability building for our local Digital & Technology Consult
ants, ensuring they understand the system's functionality
. Identify and highlight areas for improvement and system optimisation
. Work with our project team and implementation partner to implement and support key areas:
o Business Central deployment: including, but not limited to procurement; finance and banking; property rental (using implementation partner enhanced property add-on); sales and invoicing transactional activities
o Business Central add-on's, such as Jet Reports and Continia Document Capture and Document Output
o Business Central accelerators and enhancements
o Integration with 3rd party applications
o Cutover and migration
o Platform administration and security
o Workflows, panels, tiles and document management
Required Skills:
. 8 years+ experience
. Functional Knowledge of Business Central: Deep understanding of Business Central modules, features, and capabilities.
. Implementation Experience: Experience with end-to-end Business Central implementations, including all phases from requirements gathering all the way through to go-live.
. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the project team, internal stakeholders, 3rd party stakeholders and our implementation partner.
. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
. Technical Skills: Expert with Business Central customisation, extensions, and integrations.
. Business Analysis Skills: Ability to analyse business processes and recommend best practice solutions.
. Training & Documentation Skills: Ability to create training materials and documentation for end-users.
. BC Data Model: Knowledge and understanding of the Business Central data model to advise and support our project team with any best practice approach
Additional Skills:
. Integration Experience: Experience with integrating Business Central with other systems
. Data Migration Skills: For migrating data to Business Central
