Summary: The Messaging and Collaboration Engineer will design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365. This role combines engineering and delivery, providing technical leadership and project execution while addressing complex issues. The engineer will serve as a trusted advisor to internal IT teams, driving modernization initiatives and ensuring service reliability. The position offers exposure to both business-as-usual and project work in a fast-paced environment with the latest technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and project execution for messaging and collaboration initiatives.
- Act as a technical authority and trusted advisor to internal IT teams.
- Drive modernization initiatives and ensure service reliability.
- Manage complex issues as a tier-3 escalation point.
- Engage in both business-as-usual and project work.
- Plan, design, and commission new and existing requirements.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Compliance Centre.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019 administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Exchange Online and Hybrid Deployments, including coexistence, migrations, and hybrid mailflow.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for device and application management (MDM/MAM).
- Proficiency in Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and Identity Federation (ADFS, Azure AD Connect).
- Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and administration.

The Messaging and Collaboration Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration and optimisiation of enterprise messaging, collaboration, and mobile device management platforms. This includes Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and Online), Microsoft 365 (M365), Intune, and related technologies such as Teams, Sharepoint Online, and Azure Active Directory. This both an engineering and delivering focused role, providing technical leadership, project execution, and tier-3 escalation for complex issues. This person will act as technical authority and trusted advisor to internal IT teams, driving modernisation initiatives, ensuring service reliability, and aligning collaboration solutions with business goals. There is a large project pipeline, so will allow someone with the right skills to have exposure to both BAU and project work. The environment is fast paced and allows huge exposure to the latest technologies, coupled with the ability to be involved with the planning, design and commissioning, of new and existing requirements.
