Inspire the Next Generation of Creative Media Professionals

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Media on behalf of a leading Further Education provider. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable media professional to join a creative curriculum area and deliver engaging lessons to Level 3 learners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a blend of theoretical and practical media sessions, supporting learners to achieve their full potential and preparing them for progression into higher education and industry careers.

Location: Derbyshire

Start Date: 28th September 2026

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

Contract: Temporary Ongoing

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Media lessons to Level 3 learners
  • Teach a combination of practical and theory-based content
  • Act as a Personal Tutor, delivering tutorials and learner support sessions
  • Assess student work and provide constructive formative and summative feedback
  • Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records
  • Complete registers and associated administrative duties
  • Maintain positive classroom management and learner engagement
  • Support students to achieve their qualification outcomes

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A qualification in Media or a related discipline such as:
  • Graphic Design
  • Motion Graphics
  • UI/UX Design
  • A Level 4 qualification or above in a relevant subject
  • Experience delivering or assessing BTEC and/or UAL qualifications
  • Strong industry knowledge and practical media skills
  • Excellent communication and classroom management abilities
  • A teaching qualification such as a PGCE would be advantageous, although not essential
  • Experience working with Further Education learners is desirable
  • enhanced DBS on the update service Desirable
