Summary: The Mechanical Welding QA/QC Engineer role focuses on ensuring quality compliance during the installation, inspection, and testing of boiler pressure parts in power generation projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assuring quality compliance during the installation, inspection, and testing of boiler pressure parts.
  • Ensures all construction activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct material receiving inspections (MRI) and verify vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable QC documentation.
  • Witness and verify Hydrostatic pressure testing, Leak tests, flushing, blowing & re-commissioning activities.
  • Supervise subcontractors’ quality activities and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support QA/QC Manager during audits, inspections, and client/third-party surveillance.

Key Skills:

  • HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in QC/QA roles for mechanical installation in Power Generation, Boilers, HRSGs or Industrial Plants.
  • Proven experience with boiler pressure parts construction & installation and water wall panels.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, and pressure testing.
  • Certification in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • CSWIP / BGAS or similar inspection certifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of standards and codes including BS / EN / European Standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems.

Mechanical Welding QA/QC Engineer – Power Generation focus

£45-50 per hour (outside IR35) + site-based + average 40-50hr working week + overtime + 6-month contract (rolling) + immediate start

Mechanical Welding QA/QC Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for assuring quality compliance during the installation, inspection, and testing of boiler pressure parts, particularly water wall panels, economizers, headers, and associated piping systems.
  • Ensures all construction activities are executed in full compliance with project specifications, applicable international standards, approved procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Conduct material receiving inspections (MRI) and verification of vendor documentation
  • Ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable QC documentation
