Summary: The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee all mechanical works on a residential construction project, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project timelines. The role involves managing mechanical teams and coordinating with contractors and engineers to facilitate the efficient execution of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC and plumbing. This position requires proactive management of health and safety standards on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and coordinating mechanical works for the residential project, ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and specifications.
  • Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing).
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Managing and leading a team of mechanical tradespeople, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and quality.
  • Liaising with contractors, engineers, and other trades to resolve issues and ensure the project remains on schedule.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed, material usage, and any issues encountered.
  • Providing reports and updates to senior management on progress, challenges, and solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role, particularly in residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing.
  • Experience in managing teams and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to think on your feet.
  • A proactive approach to health & safety on-site.
  • Own tools preferred, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of project management processes and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
