Our client is a well-established and highly respected off-site Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) fabrication specialist, delivering innovative and high-quality engineering solutions across the UK and Ireland.
Due to the award of a significant healthcare project, they are seeking an experienced Temporary Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the installation of two steam boilers at a Hospital in Belfast.
Your new role
Reporting to the Project Management team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical installation works within a live hospital environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating the installation of two steam boilers on site.
- Acting as the primary point of contact between the client, project stakeholders and operational teams.
- Supervising and coordinating subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
- Managing site documentation, permits, RAMS and all associated project paperwork.
- Monitoring progress and reporting against key project milestones.
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise disruption and maintain programme delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience working as a Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or similar role.
Experience managing mechanical installation projects within commercial, industrial or healthcare settings.
Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong organisational and administrative skills with experience managing site documentation.
A proactive approach to health and safety.
The ability to work effectively within a live operational environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid CSR Card.
- Proven experience managing mechanical installation projects.
- Sound knowledge of site health and safety legislation and best practice.
Desirable Criteria:
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- Experience working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge and experience of steam systems and boiler installations.
