Summary: The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project delivery from estimation to completion, ensuring financial accountability, quality control, and adherence to timelines. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and proactive management of project scope and resources. The position is based in Dartford, Kent, with projects primarily located in central London. A strong background in project management and engineering is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage project development from start to finish, having responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the project.
- Liaise with the main contractor, sub-contractors, suppliers and the client.
- Plan the utilisation of resources, both available and required.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver the project according to plan.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, track project milestones and deliverables. Troubleshoot problem areas.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential problems and develop contingency plans.
- Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary, obtaining client approval as necessary.
- Develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Prepare & update cost control sheets on a weekly basis.
- Prepare & issue weekly/fortnightly Progress Report.

- A self starter, good at problem solving and multi-tasking.
- Commercially astute, able to anticipate issues that may affect costs and address them proactively.
- Good computer skills, with appropriate experience in project management software.

The Projects will mainly be based in central london but being able to get to the Dartford office will be a must.
Purpose of the Job:

Project values are between £100k – £5m.

Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years experience, including fast track fit-out work.
- Proven ability to bring projects to successful completion
- A degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a post graduate qualification in project management preferred, but equivalent qualifications and/or significant relevant experience acceptable
