Summary: The Mechanical Production Engineer role at MERITUS involves supporting the mechanical assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft and payloads within the Space Manufacturing industry. The position requires the creation of processes and procedures using 3D Experience and includes responsibilities such as hardware integration and environmental testing support. This is a 12-month contract with a single-stage interview process, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in design for manufacture reviews (DMU)
• Create work instructions, AIT plans, and procedures
• Define and support procurement of MGSE
• Drive satellite appendage installation planning
• Support documentation via DDMS and MBOMs
• Provide hands-on production floor support
• Support unit installations and integration flow
• Create rework instructions and manage required tooling/parts
• Conduct PFMEA, root cause analysis, and quality reviews
• Resolve observations and support issue tracking
• Design tooling/build aids
• Contribute to R&D initiatives
• Develop and maintain training modules
• Standardize and improve working methods and processes

Key Skills:

• HNC (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong understanding of mechanical integration in aerospace or similar sectors
• Experience with complex mechanical systems and high-quality documentation
• Familiarity with environmental testing (vibration, acoustic, thermal)
• Proficient in 3D Experience (Delmia), SAP, and DDMS
• Flexible to work offsite, shifts, and on-call as needed
• Strong planning, time management, and communication skills
