Summary: The Mechanical Package Engineer will oversee rotating equipment engineering activities during the EPSCC phases of a FEED & EPC project in the UK. This role involves ensuring compliance with project objectives, quality standards, and HSE regulations while collaborating with contractors and other disciplines. The engineer will also manage documentation, design reviews, and technical risk mitigation related to rotating equipment. A strong background in the oil and gas sector and a minimum of 15 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and implement safe design principles by identifying opportunities to eliminate, reduce, or mitigate HSE risks during engineering and construction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Contractor’s rotating equipment engineering team to achieve delivery in line with project schedule, quality, and budget, incorporating lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Ensure all rotating equipment documentation, including the Master Document Register (MDR), is accurate, up to date, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Review rotating equipment designs, deliverables, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Liaise with other disciplines to resolve technical interfaces and maintain discipline alignment.
  • Support engineering change management and ensure all design changes are properly controlled, documented, and communicated.
  • Integrate quality and safety considerations into all rotating equipment design activities.
  • Identify technical risks related to rotating equipment engineering and develop mitigation strategies to reduce project exposure.
  • Ensure discipline-related issues are addressed promptly and decisions are communicated effectively to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and apply rotating equipment quality standards and ensure consistency with TotalEnergies specifications.
  • Interface with the Quality Lead as required to ensure compliance and address quality concerns.
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits, ensure discipline readiness, and implement findings related to the rotating equipment scope.
  • Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams to ensure continuity from design through execution.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within rotating equipment engineering processes and procedures, promoting efficiency and optimisation.
  • Capture and share discipline lessons learned across the project team to support technical excellence.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years in rotating equipment and packages engineering professional practices, preferably in large-scale oil and gas sector.
  • At least 5 years in a senior role working on client side covering oversight of all rotating equipment engineering activities, preferably in detailed design phase of projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of rotating equipment standards and practices.
  • Proven ability to cover all areas of rotating equipment Engineering, manage design changes and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering discipline (Mandatory minimum requirement).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification (Desirable).
  • Strong communication skills.

CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Package Engineer for an FEED & EPC project in the UK. Reporting to the Rotating equipment Lead, the Service Holder is responsible during the EPSCC phases for:

  • Reviewing Rotating equipment (pumps and compressors) and package units (e.g. chemical injection package, vapour recovery package, air compressor package, diesel generaot package) engineering activities executed by the EPSCC Contractor to ensure compliance with project objectives for the facility.
  • Ensuring all engineering activities related to rotating equipment are performed in compliance with the Project Basis of Design and technical specifications with high level of quality, HSE standards within the project time schedule and cost.

Type of Contract: 24 months
