Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team by meeting objectives and key performance indicators.
- Complete maintenance tasks in a timely manner as trained and competent.
- Update all maintenance records on an Asset Management System and paper worksheets.
- Participate in safety workshops and briefings.
- Promote an inclusive culture and escalate inappropriate behaviors to management.
- Ensure personal health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.
- Conduct various inspections including interior, exterior, roof, underframe, suspension, pantograph, traction motor, brake system, HVAC, and passenger doors.
- Comply with Drugs & Alcohol testing and medical requirements due to the safety-critical nature of the role.
Key Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 in maintenance/engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in Light Rail, Rolling Stock, Automotive, HGV, or large Transportation.
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities within a multi-disciplined team.
- Proven experience in a large maintenance environment with a focus on safety.
- Ability to follow maintenance instructions accurately.

End Date: End of December 2026 (potential to be extended)
Shifts: Monday to Friday / 06:30 - 14:30 hours
Rates: Pre 12 Weeks: PAYE: £22.00 per hour / Umbrella: £28.07 per hour (Inclusive of 28 days holiday) Post 12 Weeks: PAYE: £22.00 per hour / Umbrella: £29.45 per hour (Inclusive of 33 days holiday)
Qualification Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in maintenance / engineering or equivalent. Certificates are required.
Experience Requirements: Light Rail, Rolling Stock, Automotive, HGV or large Transportation. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities within a large multi-disciplined team. Proven experience in a large maintenance environment with a focus on safety and following maintenance instructions.
Purpose of the role: Working as part of the maintenance exam team in a safety critical environment to carry out inspection and repair tasks. Working under the supervision of the tram maintenance team leader and alongside the light rail rolling stock team, the role supports the delivery of the client's maintenance plan by completing maintenance activities as stipulated in the maintenance task instruction.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards and key performance indicators are met.
- Complete tasks trained and competent to do and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all maintenance records are updated on an Asset Management System and paper worksheet.
- Actively take part in safety workshop and briefings.
- Contribute to building and inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that go against the EDI culture, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
- Ensure own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring zero harm principles and just culture are demonstrated in all ways of working.

- Interior, Exterior, Roof and Underframe Inspections.
- Suspension Inspections.
- Pantograph Inspections.
- Traction Motor Inspections.
- Brake System Inspection and Testing.
- HVAC Inspections.
- Passenger Door Inspections.
