Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based on-site at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford covering building services PPM's and Reactive Maintenance, on a Long Term contract on behalf of our client's on-site Facility Managment division.
- Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Plumber - Darent Valley Hospital, DA2 8DA
- Full time –Mon-Friday, 37.5hrs/week basic hours paid per week
- Salary: From £22.55 per hour ongoing with overtime at uplifted 1.5 x or 2 x rate over 37.5 hours.
Core Requirments:
As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will be required to carry out PPM and reactive maintenance breakdowns. The role will require you to do checks to anything from Water sampling and planned Mechanical maintenance to reactive plant remediations across the hospital alone or working with internal or outsourced colleugues.
Main Accountabilities:
- To service and maintain building plumbing services and plant equipment in accordance with relevant standards, frequencies, and safe working practices. To respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and any necessary repairs.
- Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks.
- To have a ‘can do’ approach to your work ethos.
- Be able to work within a small maintenance team, consisting of a mechanical shift engineer and a semi-skilled shift engineer (plus a full day team of engineering and support staff)
What you will need for the role:
- Good all round technical ability and a working knowledge of a wide variety of plumbing systems required, knowledge of building maintenance preferred, but not essential.
- Must be a Qualified or Time-Served NVQ 2 + Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Previous Plumbing and Mechanical Commercial PPM experience required
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to multi-task and be methodical.
- A pro-active approach to problem solving.
- Overtime available (shift covers and shut down work, as well as additional remedial works).
