Summary: The Mechanical Technician role at Brightwork's client involves maintaining and improving various plant machinery, focusing on both reactive and planned preventive maintenance. This position is specifically for the night shift, Monday to Friday, and requires a mechanical bias with some electrical work. The technician will also be responsible for identifying continuous improvement opportunities and completing documentation to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance levels.
- Overhaul, adapt, and carry out improvements on existing machinery.
- Mechanically biased role with some electrical work involved.
- Replace bearings, inspect compressors, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding tasks.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the plant and suggest new methods and procedures.
- Complete all documentation to a high standard.
- Carry out basic facility and site service maintenance as needed.
Key Skills:
- Mechanical bias with Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- Mechanical experience, preferably in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and general plant machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- A flexible, team-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to different tasks and shifts as required.
- Knowledge in continuous improvement and new working methods.
