Summary: The role of Mechanical Fitter involves working on innovative applications for the marine industry, focusing on the fit-out, maintenance, and repair of specialist craft. Key Responsibilities:
- Vessel fit out, maintenance & repair of specialist craft
- Build sub-assemblies ready to be tested before fitting into craft
- Travel to and support offsite craft testing if required
- Advise on noted defects
- Follow work instructions and project timelines diligently to ensure timely completion of tasks
Key Skills:
- City & Guilds or HND qualification in Boat Building or Marine Engineering, or extended experience in composite yacht construction
- Experience in propulsion installation
- Experience in vessel fit out (including fuel, raw water, exhaust systems, hydraulics)
- Able to work from CAD drawings and work instructions
- Complete documentation when required
- Existing right to live and work in the UK
- No known bar to obtaining appropriate UK security clearance
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
