Summary: The role of Mechanical Fitter involves working on innovative applications for the marine industry, focusing on the fit-out, maintenance, and repair of specialist craft. Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel fit out, maintenance & repair of specialist craft
  • Build sub-assemblies ready to be tested before fitting into craft
  • Travel to and support offsite craft testing if required
  • Advise on noted defects
  • Follow work instructions and project timelines diligently to ensure timely completion of tasks

Key Skills:

  • City & Guilds or HND qualification in Boat Building or Marine Engineering, or extended experience in composite yacht construction
  • Experience in propulsion installation
  • Experience in vessel fit out (including fuel, raw water, exhaust systems, hydraulics)
  • Able to work from CAD drawings and work instructions
  • Complete documentation when required
  • Existing right to live and work in the UK
  • No known bar to obtaining appropriate UK security clearance
  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance

Craft Engineer (contract) Outside IR35 Marine applications Up to £30 per hour DoE Portsmouth

Responsibilities will include:

  • Vessel fit out, maintenance & repair of specialist craft
  • Build sub-assemblies ready to be tested before fitting into craft.
