Summary: The Mechanical Fitter / Tram Maintainer role at Nottingham Tram Depot involves providing mechanical expertise for the maintenance and servicing of a modern light rail fleet. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on tram stock and associated equipment
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and adhere to depot safety procedures
- Follow health & safety regulations including H&S.A.W. and C.O.S.H.H.
- Maintain compliance with quality systems
- Support team tasks to meet deadlines and quality specifications
- Conduct routine exams and primary fault-finding (within competence level)
- Perform component exchanges and manage stores provisioning
Key Skills:
- Time-served apprenticeship or Level 3 equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds, SVQ, NVQ)
- Strong Mechanical Engineering background
- Experience working with maintenance procedures, work instructions, or technical documentation
- Background in Rolling Stock, Light Rail, Military Engineering, HGV, or other large transport sectors

About the Opportunity:
Rullion is working with a prestigious Rolling Stock and Light Rail client to recruit Mechanical Fitters on a contract position at their Nottingham Tram Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled professionals with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering to contribute to the reliability and maintenance of a modern light rail fleet.
Pay Rates (Inside IR35):
PAYE: £20.61/hour + accrued holiday
Umbrella: £26.27/hour (first 12 weeks)
£27.56/hour (after 12 weeks)
Role Overview:
As a member of the depot's autonomous maintenance team, you will provide mechanical expertise to support our client's maintenance and service commitments for their tram fleet.
