Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Norwich
Contract: 12 Months
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday with occasional travel assets.
Description
An exciting opportunity to join the Maintenance team supporting Southern North Sea operations.
The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical support to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of a broad range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, engines, generators, piping, valves, and vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity.
- Support shutdowns, outages, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis and identify reliability improvements.
- Develop and maintain maintenance strategies, procedures, and equipment routines.
- Monitor maintenance performance and reduce backlog and downtime.
- Specify, procure, and manage replacement equipment.
- Manage change (MOC) processes, technical documentation, and reporting.
- Utilise Maximo or similar maintenance management systems.
- Conduct site assurance surveys onshore and offshore.
- Deliver technical guidance and training to technicians and new recruits.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree, HNC, or HND in a relevant discipline.
- 8-10 years' experience in offshore oil & gas or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, maintenance, and planning processes.
- Understanding of hazardous area equipment specifications and Management of Change (MOC).
- Experience with CMMS systems, preferably Maximo.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with valves, actuators, and associated testing/maintenance.
