Summary: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will engage in diverse challenges throughout the product life cycle, including requirements capture, design, development, documentation, testing, and production delivery. The role involves creating and evolving designs for various projects, from proof-of-concept to working prototypes. You will also have opportunities to present solutions through sketches, animations, and renderings. This position is available as either a contract or permanent role, based in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through the entire product life cycle.
  • Capture requirements, design, develop, document, test, and deliver products to production.
  • Create and evolve designs for products, assembly jigs, test equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Present proposed solutions through sketches, animations, and renderings.

Key Skills:

  • Experience leading projects.
  • Strong academic background, ideally a PhD.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and ideally familiar with other CAD packages such as Catia and Creo.
  • Knowledge of thermal modelling or simulation.
  • Active SC or DV clearance.

Mechanical Engineer

Open to either contract (outside ir35) or permanent

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will get to tackle diverse, real-world challenges. Typically, this will involve going through the whole product life cycle, you will capture requirements, design, develop, document, test, and deliver through to production. My client variety of projects, from proof-of-concept through to working prototypes, provide both intellectual and practical challenges. The successful mechanical engineer will create and evolve a wide range of designs including products, assembly jigs, test equipment and instrumentation. There will also be opportunities to present proposed solutions through sketches, animations, and renderings, the successful mechanical engineer working on current critical projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading projects
  • Strong academic background (ideally phd)
  • Experienced with SolidWorks and ideally some exposure/ knowledge of other CAD packages such as Catia and Creo
  • Knowledge of thermal modelling or simulation
  • Active SC or DV clearance

Details:

This role can be either permanent or contract (outside ir35)

Onsite based in Cambridge (potential for a 4 day work week)
