Key Responsibilities:

  • Create or update mechanical design drawings using AutoCAD based on engineers’ redlines or instruction.
  • Deliver complete drawing work packages that comply with internal standards and external design requirements.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of design work – from early-stage concept through to detailed and manufacturing drawings.
  • Support project delivery across several systems and machines concurrently.
  • Ensure all drawings follow relevant national and international drafting standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using internal drawing management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
  • Provide input on drawing improvements or optimisations where applicable.
  • Handle technical queries related to drawing content or clarity.
  • Ensure version control and configuration of drawing updates is properly maintained.

The Opportunity

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to support the delivery of detailed design packages across multiple machines and systems. The role involves contributing to a range of lifting, mechanical handling, and process equipment, with a focus on high standards of technical output and documentation accuracy.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
