Summary: The Mechanical Designer/Engineer role involves working on upgrade projects for a leading International Petrochemical Manufacturing company, focusing on enhancing technology platforms for hazardous material production. Candidates should have experience with Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks, and a background in mechanical engineering is preferred. The position is contract-based for an estimated duration of 12 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on upgrade projects and develop new technology.
- Implement upgrades to existing plant equipment, including cranes, monorail systems, lifting hoists, and rotating machinery.
- Upgrade existing rotating tables and press tool support fabrications.
- Design bespoke frames for stacking and maneuvering equipment and materials.
- Design and detail mechanical components for electrolysers and associated processes.
- Design and detail hydraulically operated pressure test rigs.
- Create general arrangements and equipment layouts.
- Update engineering line diagrams, pipe work, and site layouts.
- Design refurbishment tools.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a Mechanical Designer/Engineer.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering preferred, minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Experience with upgrades to plant equipment for hazardous materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
