Summary: Our Client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract role focused on the detailed mechanical design of a cryogenic turbo-pump system in the Space Sector. The position requires expertise in turbo-machinery design and proficiency in CAD systems. The role is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is initially set for a duration of 6 months. The successful candidate will lead design efforts from conceptual sketches to final product qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate mean-line turbo-machinery designs into fully defined CAD models and technical drawings
  • Develop high-integrity mechanical designs of components such as inducers, impellers, volutes, housings, and shaft assemblies
  • Select materials compatible with cryogenic and thermally dynamic environments
  • Specify geometries and tolerances using ISO GPS standards
  • Select and size COTS components ensuring compatibility with operating conditions
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure ease of production, assembly, inspection, and maintenance
  • Lead design efforts from conceptual sketches through prototype builds to final qualified product

Key Skills:

  • Experience in turbo-machinery and/or rotating equipment design
  • Proficiency with CAD and PLM systems, preferably SolidWorks + PDM
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping and design validation
  • Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • System-level thinking and capability to manage trade-offs in performance and reliability

Our Client is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in a contract position. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the detailed mechanical design of a cryogenic turbo-pump system for the Space Sector. Some key information regarding the opportunity is as follows:

Rate: €70-€90 per hour

Duration: 6 months initially

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Responsibilities:
