This Mechanical Design Engineer role exists to turn new product concepts into manufacturable hardware for a leading consumer goods business.
As Mechanical Design Engineer you own the design from first idea through to production-ready parts.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Proven background as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in consumer products.
- Fluent in SolidWorks, from detailed part modelling to production drawings.
- Solid experience taking products through DFM into volume manufacture.
- Hands-on with injection moulding, sheet metal and mechanism design.
- Comfortable owning several projects at once and moving at pace.
Salary and Benefits
£350 to £400 per day, outside IR35
Hybrid working, three days on-site
1 month contract

Immediate scope on live new product projects
You would join the new product development team at a well-known consumer goods business, working alongside industrial designers, engineers and project managers.
The team takes ideas and turns them into products that ship in high volume, so the Mechanical Design Engineer here owns real design decisions and follows them through to manufacture.
The work is hands-on and it moves quickly.
