MDG Customer Architect – Functional

Summary: The MDG Customer Architect – Functional role involves leading the functional design and implementation of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions, with a focus on customer, supplier, and material domains. The position requires extensive experience in SAP MDG and strong stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with technical teams to define solution architecture. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week on-site in Slough, England. The contract duration is six months, and the candidate should have over 15 years of total experience, with at least 10 years relevant to SAP MDG.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead functional design for SAP MDG, including Data Modelling, UI Modelling, Rules & Validations using BRF+ configuration, and Replication modelling (DRF In/DRF Out, IDocs, ALE, SOAP services).
• Conduct requirement-gathering workshops and prepare effort estimations for SAP MDG components.
• Drive solution design aligned with SAP Activate methodology, including Blueprinting and fit-gap analysis, Configurations, Data migration, cutover planning, and execution, Go-live and hypercare support.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define the future-state solution architecture, covering Source system and consumer integration, Application architecture, External data/vendor integration, Security, performance, scalability, and governance frameworks.
• Provide expert guidance on industry best practices, common issues, and recommended approaches for MDG implementations.
• Support and validate logical data model definitions, ensuring feasibility with MDG capabilities.
• Own all project deliverables across every phase of the MDG implementation lifecycle.
