Summary: The role of Maternity Cover - Legal Counsel involves providing legal support to the Head of Legal within a not-for-profit organization based in Liverpool. This position is predominantly office-based and includes responsibilities such as responding to legal queries, drafting documents, and handling civil litigation matters. The contract is fixed-term, aimed at covering maternity leave, and is expected to start in May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to general legal queries and providing legal advice.
- Drafting legal letters and handling leases.
- Attending hearings and instructing barristers.
- Dealing with civil litigation and debt recovery matters.
- Providing general support to the in-house legal services team.
Key Skills:
- Qualified solicitor of England & Wales or nearing qualification.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure rules and litigation matters.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Relevant experience for paralegals or SQE graduates seeking qualifying work experience.
