Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of parts and materials within the facility using forklifts or hand trucks. This role requires experience in handling heavy and fragile items, with a work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position involves various duties including inventory management and inspection of materials. Candidates must possess a high school diploma and relevant experience in a warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move expensive/fragile parts as well as warehouse materials throughout the site.
- The ability to follow pre-determined routes for material movement.
- Manage crate and box inventory.
- Deliver and manage scrap parts inventory.
- Visually inspect repaired parts for handling damage and receive them per process.
- Crate and box parts utilizing a foam machine, saw and other tools.
- Ability to pack/unpack crates, boxes, and pallets.
- Maintain inventory of wooden and plastic pallets as well as various crates; store and stack them neatly.
- Deliver parts as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Key Skills:
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Minimum of one year experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard.
- Ability to operate a forklift rated for over 15,000 pounds.
- Able to work outdoors, year-round, in a variety of weather conditions.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel).
- Capability to actively work on multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to be certified in crane and rigging operations.
