Summary: The role is for a derivatives/master agreements legal professional/lawyer within a global financial services organization, specifically in their investment banking division. Our client is a global financial services organisation who provides specialist corporate and investment banking services to an international client base. In response to growth, the investment banking arm of the business is now looking for a derivatives/master agreements legal professional/lawyer to join their established and highly regarded London legal team. This role is a day-rate contract role, initially, but the team have previously taken on 3 other master agreements negotiators who were all taken on permanently following the initial contract length, and this is also an aim for this hire, if desired by both parties.
In this role you will:
- Review, negotiate and support the execution of a range of corporate ISDA negotiations;
- Advise on a netting arrangements;
- Deal with related transactions and documentation, including CSAs, for example;
- Support the front office in the management of legal risk for the EMEA-wide business.
What are we looking for?
- A qualified lawyer or master agreements legal professional with at least 9 years’ experience with derivatives (primarily ISDA) documentation;
- Experience working with a funds/buy slide client base;
- Candidates with a one-month notice period or less, ideally;
- Experience in IM/VM work (either from a regulatory implementation project, or related exercise).
