Role overview

As the Marketing Manager, you will work directly with the CEO, Deputy CEO and the agency’s Leadership Team to further develop the agency’s marketing function, build our brand and grow our new business pipeline. This role oversees a diverse range of marketing activities, including events, thought-leadership, awards, case studies, social media, digital marketing, website, newsletters & database growth. For this role, you will need to combine outstanding planning and project management skills with a strategic and creative mindset. You will also need to be an effective team manager and have the soft skills required to effectively manage internal stakeholder relationships and external partners. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO START THE ROLE AT THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER 2026

As a Marketing Manager at MHP Group, you will work across:

  • Marketing Strategy & Development - Work with CEO and deputy CEO to develop and implement central marketing strategy and individual practice strategies
  • Liaise with the Leadership Team to oversee and incorporate practice-level marketing initiatives within the group-level plan

Content & Thought Leadership Development - Work with the Leadership Team to create a range of multichannel assets, articles and reports to promote the agency’s expertise and IP, including, but not limited to:

  • News announcements (eg: client wins, key hires, etc)
  • Industry commentary (eg: politics, business, brand marketing, health, etc)
  • Polling, social listening and other research
  • In-depth reports
  • Refresh “employer brand” content, case studies and biographies
  • Work with the Design team and other senior stakeholders to ensure that the website and credentials are regularly refreshed to reflect the growth of the agency

Event Planning & Management - Work with different teams to plan and executive events programme (approx. 25 a year) from webinars and private c-suite dinners to larger panel events

  • Work with the Head of Strategic Media and other key stakeholders to run the “30 To Watch” Journalism Awards – our flagship event. This includes promoting the awards, driving forward the entries and working with our external events organisers and third-parties to produce the event
  • Working with our events agency to, organise the MHP Group Client Summer Party and employee Christmas and Summer parties
  • Develop post-event strategies to leverage contacts and opportunities and report on activity success

Client Database Management & Growth

We use HubSpot to manage our database, run marketing campaigns (sending new business emails, running paid social, hosting landing pages and forms, managing newsletters, etc) and tracking new business activity

  • Identify ways to manage and grow our client and prospect database, to ensure that the right contacts receive the right information and invitations
  • Utilise HubSpot as a central platform for driving database growth and running marketing activity
  • Train and support the marketing team, and those in the wider business in using HubSpot to enhance productivity, data-driven decision making and create a joined-up-approach to marketing

Manage Website and Social Channels

  • Oversee the continuous development and optimisation of the website, including from an SEO perspective, ensuring it effectively highlights our case studies, latest news and offering
  • Work closely with our web developers to ensure best practices and implement above point
  • Develop and execute social media strategies that engage and grow our audience and amplify our content across platforms

Client Engagement and New Business support

  • Support practice teams on ad-hoc new business activity when needed
  • Work with government portal team to ensure we receive and share tender opportunities internally, meet deadlines, submit and track of our submissions

Brand Management

  • Maintain and enhance the agency’s brand image and voice across all marketing materials and campaigns
  • Ensure consistency in banding across all platforms and communications
  • Work closely with internal design team to develop brand image and voice where appropriate

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor and manage MHP Group’s marketing executive – providing guidance and support to reach personal and marketing goals
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation with the marketing team and wider organisation

Marketing Analytics & Budget Management

  • Maintaining and updating the annual marketing calendar on a weekly basis, including a regular pipeline of news announcements, such as client wins and new joiners
  • Produce monthly marketing report to be shared with senior leadership team
  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve objectives
  • Track spending, analyse activity and update CEO monthly

You will:

  • Have significant experience in marketing, preferably within a PR/Communications organisation, marketing agency, professional services firm or similar business
  • Have a strong knowledge of HubSpot and Google Analytics, and excellent reporting/data analysis skills
  • Have a proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies
  • Have previous and demonstrable experience running events of all sizes
  • Have excellent written, verbal and visual communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a creative thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
