Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the creation of successful marketing strategies including identifying the audience, shaping the pitch, creative consumer message, partnerships, and influencer outreach
- Working closely with relevant divisional departments, including sales, editorial, publicity, and non-trade
- Creating impactful marketing materials for allocated book campaigns to reach consumer audiences and support key retailers
- Supporting the campaigns director and senior marketing manager on the delivery of key activity for priority non-fiction campaigns, in addition to leading on smaller individual campaigns
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing strategy for specific marketing channels such as divisional social channels, newsletters, and retailer websites
- Briefing freelancers and in-house teams on creative assets and paid-for social campaigns
- Identifying opportunities for key orange spines backlist titles and delivering on relevant online and offline marketing activity
- Liaising with authors on relevant social media activity on owned and retailer channels

The role Day to day this role will support marketing activity on some of our biggest non-fiction books, while also delivering on individual campaigns. In addition to frontlist books across science, history, politics and culture, you will also focus on strategic backlist priorities from our perennial orange spines paperback list. Combining creativity with thoughtful engagement on a variety of subjects, you’ll work on books at every stage of their marketing lifecycle: from proofs and early sales materials to creative assets and reader outreach. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll work closely with authors and colleagues across editorial, publicity and sales to ensure our books reach their biggest possible audiences. Organised and self-motivated, you’ll be simultaneously working across multiple campaigns. You’ll be curious and interested in engaging with big ideas, responding with creative campaigns that help us set the cultural agenda. This role is being offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave. With proven marketing experience, you might be an assistant looking for your next step, or in an executive-level role and looking for a new challenge. This role is also an excellent secondment opportunity for colleagues within the wider Penguin Random House business.
