Summary: The Marketing Communications Specialist 3 is responsible for designing and building responsive emails and landing pages, executing marketing campaigns, and optimizing performance using Marketo and Knak. The role requires technical development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with collaboration with marketing stakeholders to enhance customer engagement. The position supports global stakeholders remotely while also requiring periodic on-site work in Sunnyvale, California. The candidate should have a strong background in email design and marketing automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create responsive, mobile-friendly, and dark-mode-optimized emails and landing pages using Marketo and Knak.
- Develop, launch, and optimize Marketo programs for email sends, nurtures, webinars, and events.
- Code and troubleshoot HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Velocity scripting for dynamic and personalized experiences.
- Test rendering and deliverability using Email on Acid or Knak; manage QA across clients and devices.
- Run A/B tests, measure performance, and recommend design and segmentation improvements.
- Partner with marketing stakeholders on UX/UI best practices, audience targeting, and campaign optimization.
- Explore new automation techniques, personalization methods, and integrations to enhance customer engagement.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years of hands-on Marketo experience; proficiency in Knak, Litmus, or Email on Acid.
- Advanced HTML/CSS skills with a strong understanding of responsive email design.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and Velocity scripting.
- Experience designing and testing email and landing page templates.
- Familiarity with Figma, Photoshop, or Dreamweaver.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Strong eye for design, detail, and brand consistency.
- Minimum B.S. degree preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience building emails and landing pages.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, pharma, healthcare) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Veeva PromoMats or other content approval workflows is a bonus.
- Understanding of marketing data standards, privacy compliance (GDPR), and automation best practices is a bonus.

The Marketo Email Designer works remotely supporting stakeholders globally. The position calls for regular Zoom calls to sync and coordinate workloads.
Regularly meeting with Stakeholders and the Marketo Team in the pursuit of executing their Email tasks on time.
This position is designated as purposefully on site and requires periodically working in the office.
