Summary: Airswift is seeking a Marine Lead (Civil) to oversee marine engineering and manage contractors for a major Oil & Gas Company in Qatar. The role involves ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule while providing technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must possess significant seagoing experience and strong knowledge of oil and gas operations. The position requires effective communication and analytical skills, along with a commitment to mentoring and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead marine engineering and manage FEED/EPC contractors to deliver compliant marine design within approved scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide technical oversight, resolve engineering issues, and monitor deliverables and progress from design through startup.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences, marine disciplines, or engineering or Diploma in marine or nautical disciplines, and STCW II/2, STCW III/2 Certification.
- Minimum 8 years seagoing experience, including at least 1 year as Chief Engineer or Master.
- Strong knowledge of oil & gas operations and international maritime regulations, codes, and standards.
- Experience managing offshore marine units and brownfield engineering projects.
- Familiar with berth design, marine studies (metocean, hydrodynamic, mooring), seabed dredging, and marine piles.
- LNG and/or liquid product berth experience preferred.
- Fluent in written and spoken English with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
- Effective in mediation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, influencing, and creative thinking.
- Proficient in marine engineering software (e.g., Optimoor) and knowledgeable in industry codes, standards, and practices.
