Summary: The role of Marine Engineer involves executing engineering workloads to deliver customer-designed components, with responsibilities including technical support, quality assurance, and collaboration with various teams. The position is primarily site-based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with some flexibility for home working. Candidates should have a background in mechanical engineering or design, along with relevant experience in the engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute technical work packages and check all own work.
- Contribute to planning and reporting of projects and tasks.
- Interface with local and Network Partners, addressing customer and supplier issues.
- Contribute to quality and continuous improvement activities.
- Provide technical input to the Section Manager and engineering teams.
- Review and approve specifications, manufacturing data, and technical advice.
- Report potential and actual non-conformances to senior staff.
- Decide on the breakdown of assemblies for manufacturing.
- Support in-house manufacturing through extended working hours.
- Review drawings for manufacturability issues and spares requirements.
- Develop and support design manufacturing aids and assembly methodologies.
- Respond to technical and quality manufacturing issues for resolution.
Key Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an engineering service company.
- Mechanical Engineering or Design background.
- Knowledge of the power generation market sector or rotating equipment.
- A relevant Engineering or Scientific degree or equivalent experience.
- Computer literacy, with SAP knowledge advantageous.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Team player with self-motivation and flexibility.
