Summary: The Marine Designer role is a 6-month position based in Leatherhead, requiring a Senior Designer to support the Marine Team by coordinating with various disciplines and managing remote designers. The position involves hybrid working, with three days in the office and two days remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Marine Team and liaise with other disciplines.
- Coordinate with project team members across global offices to meet timelines and budgets.
- Manage a team of designers working remotely.
- Create project-specific job notes, guides, and training materials.
- Organize schedules and resources to achieve project deliverables.
- Break down project tasks to drawing level and estimate resources for milestones.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools effectively.
- Identify priorities and address urgent issues promptly.
- Work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Perform office-based tasks as required.
Key Skills:
- Marine and Structural Designer with formal qualification or on-the-job training.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proficient in Aveva Marine.
- Ability to manage remote teams.

As a Senior Designer, you will support the Marine Team, liaise with other disciplines, and work with clients and vendors. Coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
Role Requirements and Experience:
- Marine and Structural Designer with a formal qualification or on job training
- Minimum experience of 10 years
- Proficient in the use of Aveva Marine and be able to provide advice / Guidance to junior designers
- Ability to manage a team of designers working remotely
- Creation of project specific job notes, guides and training material to support consistent deliverables
- Organizing schedules and resources within the team to achieve required deliverables to project deadlines
- Breaking project tasks down to drawing level and estimating resources required to complete milestones
- Competence in the use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in identifying priorities and be agile in addressing emerging urgent issues as they arise
- Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to work in an office-based role
