Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing tooling and fixture solutions to optimise manufacturing operations
- Design and prototype of tooling and fixtures and apply engineering principles to the development of tools
- Working with Manufacturing Engineers and Designers to understand the product interfaces and best tooling solutions
- Developing specifications for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes
- Creating tooling/fixture calibration, replacement and maintenance schedules dependant on usage and wear
- Developing and maintaining tooling maintenance and audits schedules
Requirements
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in the design and development of production tooling within the aerospace or automotive sectors
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations
- Experience using CAD software
- Experience of PFMEA and Control Plan development leading to robust process development
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and scheduling
My client, an innovative company at the forefront of electric motor technology, requires a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer for a contract role outside IR35.
This is an onsite role.
The Manufacturing Tooling Engineer will develop and maintain my client’s manufacturing process.
The role will entail designing and introducing jigs, tools and fixtures to the shop floor for both NPI and existing production, improving production efficiency and ensuring that products conform to quality standards.
