Summary: This role is for a Manufacturing Technician in a contractor position within a fast-growing diagnostics business in Cambridge. The technician will be responsible for producing cartridge consumables for a point-of-need diagnostics system, working closely with a production team to ensure high-quality output. The position involves hands-on assembly, quality inspection, and data recording, with a focus on continuous improvement. The role requires practical manufacturing experience and the ability to adapt to changing procedures in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling consumables using machinery, presses, and welding equipment
- Carrying out hands-on production tasks to keep output consistent and quality high
- Inspecting builds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
- Recording production data accurately
- Spotting and reporting issues early while suggesting improvements
- Taking ownership of your work and seeing the impact as products move toward launch
Key Skills:
- Practical experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Confident using assembly machinery, presses, or welders (training available where needed)
- Comfortable following standard procedures while adapting when things change
- Experience in cleanroom or regulated environments (ISO 13485 / cGMP experience desirable)
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Proactive and reliable, with a can-do attitude
