Summary: The Manufacturing Support Engineer role involves supporting the transition of innovative robotics products from R&D to production in Aberdeen. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, update and maintain accurate 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings.
  • Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams and service personnel as required.
  • Ensure all general arrangements, BOMs and associated documentation are correct, current and properly maintained.
  • Manage CAD files and PDM/Vault systems to ensure data is structured, version-controlled and easily accessible.
  • Act as a key member of the design team, owning workflow, document control and supporting smooth progression of jobs from concept through to release.
  • Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, CAD standards and data management workflows.
  • Provide hands-on support across design, assembly, installation and testing activities when needed.

Key Skills:

  • Degree or HND in mechanical, manufacturing or product engineering.
  • Experience supporting both design and production teams.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles.

This is a rolling contract role, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. This is a key role that supports the creative design team while ensuring products move smoothly from R&D into real-world production, acting as the bridge between mechanical design, manufacturing and operations. This is a hands-on, detail-focused opportunity for someone who understands how products move from prototype to build.

You should be confident managing PDM/Vault systems, maintaining BOMs, running ECNs and ensuring engineering data is accurate and controlled. Proficiency with Inventor or SolidWorks is important, and experience with basic analysis or validation work is a bonus.
