Summary: The Manufacturing Project Manager role at a world-class defence organisation in Bolton involves overseeing manufacturing projects to ensure they meet business plan targets through effective cost control and schedule management. The position requires strong stakeholder management and reporting skills, as well as experience in project management within an engineering or production environment. The role is initially for a 12-month contract with potential for extension, and it is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Programme Managers and Manufacturing Management Team to define, plan, direct and deliver manufacturing projects/contracts.
• Manage stakeholder interfaces and ensure accurate reporting of project performance.
• Own Manufacturing Work Packages from cost, schedule, and quality perspectives.
• Plan and facilitate the success of large-scale contracts throughout the product life cycle.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers and key subcontractors.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining contract risk and opportunity plans/budgets.
• Communicate project/programme requirements to a multi-disciplined team.
• Play a key role in tendering/bidding activities for future business acquisition.

Key Skills:

• Proven track record as a Project Manager in delivering fixed cost programmes within a matrix organisation.
• Experience in an engineering or production environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and drive multi-functional teams.
• Proactive and tenacious with the ability to prioritize and manage strategic business needs.
• Experience in applying Project Management skills in a relevant business environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
