Summary: The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer role involves working on-site with a global automotive manufacturer in Cheshire, focusing on the installation and testing of manufacturing equipment. The position requires collaboration with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met and equipment is approved for production. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track the installation progress across key milestones.
- Act as the main point of contact between the OEM, suppliers, and internal teams for General Assembly.
- Join meetings focused on solving problems and analysing faults.
- Lead testing activities during adjustment phases.
- Create reports after each system modification and restart.
- Provide weekly updates on supplier progress and project deadlines.
- Schedule and validate specification approvals, including product-process alignment.
- Review and compare technical and financial supplier proposals.
- Oversee supplier approval, production launch, safety checks, and final equipment acceptance.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge and experience of automotive process engineering.
- Experience of design and install of manufacturing equipment.
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Project Management.
- Strong cross functional team leadership skills.
- Able to work autonomously, with a hands-on approach.
- Experience of and a good working knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of CAD systems is an advantage.
