Summary: The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer role involves working on-site with a global automotive manufacturer in Cheshire, focusing on the installation and testing of manufacturing equipment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track the installation progress across key milestones.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the OEM, suppliers, and internal teams for General Assembly.
  • Join meetings focused on solving problems and analysing faults.
  • Lead testing activities during adjustment phases.
  • Create reports after each system modification and restart.
  • Provide weekly updates on supplier progress and project deadlines.
  • Schedule and validate specification approvals, including product-process alignment.
  • Review and compare technical and financial supplier proposals.
  • Oversee supplier approval, production launch, safety checks, and final equipment acceptance.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of automotive process engineering.
  • Experience of design and install of manufacturing equipment.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Project Management.
  • Strong cross functional team leadership skills.
  • Able to work autonomously, with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience of and a good working knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of CAD systems is an advantage.

We are currently supporting a leading client in the automotive sector and are looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join the team on-site with a global automotive manufacturer based in Cheshire. This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis.
