Summary: Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract role focused on a site relocation project. The position involves supporting manufacturing operations during the transition and requires expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) and process improvement methodologies. The role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturability and quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), managing processes from initial design through to production ramp-up.
- Conduct PFMEA activities, identifying potential failure modes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop robust action plans.
- Participate in Stranger Reviews to assess manufacturability and capability for legacy and non-standard products.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for both legacy and new manufacturing processes, including work instructions and SOPs.
- Lead problem-solving activities, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Proactively identify and deliver process or product improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimise production methods.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within the aerospace sector.
- Strong knowledge of NPI processes and PFMEA.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, tooling, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to Lean or Six Sigma practices.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK, in compliance with ITAR regulations.
